- WHAT TO EXPECT -

OKRMT assessment

Medical History & Assessment

Your initial visit will consist of a consultation of your medical history, as well as an assessment of your current condition.

Your therapist uses this information to make an educated decision on the best approach in treatment for you.

The first goal is to provide relief to your primary concern, and second to prevent any negative symptoms from reoccurring in the future. It is in your best interest that the therapist gathers as much information during your initial assessment as possible to provide the most effective treatment plan for you.

Treatment

During the hands-on portion of the treatment your RMT will check in with you to make sure you are comfortable with the environment and the pressure being used.

You will be draped (covered) for privacy and personal comfort. Only the areas of the body that need treatment will be exposed. This will all be explained during your initial assessment. We want to know if you have any questions or concerns at any time.

Based on your health history form and assessment, the therapist may explain that it is best to take a moderate approach for your first appointment to avoid the possibility of significant discomfort post treatment. Any following treatments can be adjusted as necessary. It is your responsibility to communicate to the therapist if anything feels uncomfortable or painful; treatment is determined by your comfort level at all times.

Please arrive to your appointment in a clean manner. If you smoke or work a hard job laboring, we ask that you please shower before your appointment.
